ALCO RS11 The
Alco RS11 was a 1800 hp (1.3MW) road-switcher-type diesel locomotive,
manufactured by the American
Locomotive Company in Schenctady, NY. ALCO built 426 of
these units
between 1956 and 1961. In 1956, the Southern Railway purchased the only
one of
these units it would ever own.
On the fantasy A&BR, however, two RS-11s working in tandem pull a lengthy coal train. |
