ALCO RS-11
The ALCO RS-11 was an 1800hp (1.3MW) road-switcher-type diesel locomotive, manufactured by the American Locomotive Company in Schenectady, New York. Alco built 426 of these units between 1956 and 1961. The L&N owned 10 of these units originally painted black with the old red L&N logo. On the fantasy A&BR of 1957, however, the 2 RS-11s that pull the long L&N freight train anachronistically wear the yellow and gray L&N paint scheme introduced in the mid-1960s. |
